Toward the end of 2016 I decided not to make a list of resolutions for 2017. I would just take action when it became necessary to do so. Come to think of it I already have a laundry list of resolutions (shelved) from as far back as I can remember. I decided that 2017 would be a game changer, a year for real blueprints and ACTION!
So when a long time passion of mine started to nudge at me just around the beginning of December I started to think about taking it to the next level. It started with the usual baking of Christmas cookies for friends and family. This time I decided to try out my own creations and write the recipe for each. The decision was a light bulb moment that led me to trying out not only recipes for pastries, but also recipes for juices and jams, various cuisines and desserts using tropical fruits, vegetables and nuts. The reason – create an opportunity to monetize my creations and my collection of recipes.
My goal – create and have in my collection 100 marketable recipes and food design ideas by May 31, 2017.
January 2017 started with a bang! I hit the ground running and have not slowed down. To date, January 14, 2017, I have completed 17 recipes so far and working on others. I have since started a food blog, Facebook page and Instagram account called Delectable Gems to showcase and to promote my work.
I am excited that I am taking action to do something that I am really passionate about. I’ve heard this saying all along, but now I understand its true value – that a goal is only a plan until you take action.
